This is a photo I took and turned into a Fine Art Print. It is Jerusalem in the evening. The Eastern Gate is highlighted and very significant to Bible prophecy...Ezekiel 44:2 says..."And the LORD said to me, “This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it, because the LORD God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut." This gate is literally shut with large stone bricks... why... because Christ our Lord has already passed through it. Study about the stone gates around Jerusalem's walls. It's quite fascinating! Symbolic of the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles and a foreshadowing of the New Jerusalem to come... and heaven which will have 12 gates... each a single large pearl. Wow! This 'Eastern Gate' is my favorite though... it was the entrance to the Jewish Temple outer courtyard 2000 years ago... and right outside of it... across the way on the Mount of Olives is where Christ will return after the great Tribulation period! It is a very special area! It has several names... The Eastern Gate, The Mercy Gate The Golden Gate and I believe the Temple Gate. Some say the original gate is believed to be below this one... so in that case it is really shut.
May the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob... the God of Israel be revealed in your heart today... of His great love for you and great williness to forgive you of all your sins!
