Episcopal High School Reviews

One of the best.. It really prepared my son for a good university!

It was a great school until new head master Ned Smith came. EHS used to be about bettering students and leading them in the right direction, now its all about punishment to set an example and trying to mimic and compete with the academics at St. John's. Good luck Ned, you'll need it.

Episcopal provided my son with not only a tremendous education with which he is excelling is college but a foundation in the fine arts, athletics, and religion. This school has a fantanstic and unique path it leads its students upon.

Episcopal H.S. (in the Houston comminuty of Bellaire) bases it's education on 4 'pillars' - academics, religion, arts and athletics - allowing students to receive a broad background. They offer at least 2 ability levels in most subjects including AP classes. The arts program is one of the best and includes choral and instrumental, dance, theater and cosutme design. A unique and important aspect is their emphasis on Students Of Service (or SOS) that conducts some 200 student-led service projects through the year giving the students training in helping others. Competition with other private schools in adjacent states (OK, LA, NM) is in the SPC and ISAS. Sports include Football, baseball, softball, field hockey, lacross, volleyball among others. The parents support the school by the Parents Association and the Dad's club by service snacks at games, coordinating fund raisers - golf tounrnament and major school-wide auction, and assisting in chapel.
