I love it! My teachers are great and I think I might be capable of having great achievements this year.

I really don't like Furr High School because there's no real motivation there. Their drop rate is high. Some the teachers don't teach. Their Discipline interfears with the students education but that's if they are getting one. They have hardly any extracurricular activites or music and art programs.Overall I 've been here since set. 22th and I have not found one education reason to stay. This school needs a major up grade.

In response to the parent that had just moved in with his/her child, Furr is a pretty good school. You would have approved a lot more if you child had been in the ISC Magnet. I was and it felt like an extended family. In the regular, some teachers just don't care. Your child had to go and get his/her PSAT score. I liked the school a lot sure there were some bad kids and some disinterested teachers, get your child in the ISC, it's great! Lots of involvement, cutural activities, trips to Spain, Italy, Paris...and there were many fundraisers to help..Talk to Mr. Chandler (magnet cooridinator)he's a lot of help..about college preperation, I dont know how the teachers help now but my old teacher; Chapman,Diskin, Jopowitz they were a great influence and help.

We moved to this area and this is the school zoned for my child. I visited the school during the summer and spoke with 1 of the counselors. She told me about the different programs at the school. We wanted to choose the Magnet Program but was told the application deadline had passed. During the school year my child participated in sports and maintained an A average. The school did not recognize the academic accomplishment at any time but awarded the participation in 2 sports (played 3). The PSAT was given to the 10th grade students this year but not the results. The counselors did not return phone calls nor did they inform 10 & 11 grade students of different college opportunities offered specifically for them. The administration was made aware of my disappointment but has not followed up with me to even offer a positive future at Furr High School.
