MacGregor Elementary School Reviews
Quality Score: 5 Post Date:2009-10-03
“I have three daughters that attend this school---kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade. It is going on three years that two of my children have attended MacGregor and two years for the other one. The homework assignments that all three of my children have are plenty. My oldest daughter in third grade has three to four hours of homework. My third grader gets homework during the weekend. My kindergartener and first grader have 30 minutes to an hour of homework. The work is very challenging for all of my children. The staff works with the parents to encourage the parents to help their child to become more independent. The teachers are awesome. The teachers and staff always inform me of my children conduct even if the teacher is not their instructor.” This review was posted by a parent.

“This school has a warm nurturing spirit. The children seem to be very happy to be here and the staff is friendly. Lots of extracurricular activities. Provides a well rounded fine arts education combined with strong academic performance. This school is a hidden gem in the neighborhood.” This review was posted by a parent.

“I enrolled my 2 sons there, that are in kindergarten and first grade. I am pleased with the teachers there. The only concern that I have is that my kindergarten is on the same cirriculum as my first grader. There's still room for advancement if more parents get involved.” This review was posted by a parent.

“MacGregor Elem was consider exemplary the first two years my granddaughter attended there. This year which she is in 2nd grade the school has went down. The teachers are not as good as they where before, the Principal don't seem to be as concern as the one before that retired. My granddaughter states that she is bored due to lack of work that they are receiving now. I used to recommend people to put there children there but not anymore. The level of teaching has dropped compare to 2 years ago.” This review was posted by a parent.

“Both of my children have transfered to MacGregor Elementary School and it was the best decision for me. My children are given work the challenges them and they they are given positive influences about how they are to conduct themselves in the real world. The teachers provide feedback to to when the children are doing well and need improvement. They also work with me in addressing any concerns that I may have regarding the education of my children. There is always room for improveent, but overall I find that the communication I have with my children's teachers to above average and worth my time and effort.” This review was posted by a parent.

“My child is in kindergarten and so far everything is up to standard, I think homework is essential and my child gets it. The music program is in need of some improvement. Parent involvement is at a good level.” This review was posted by a parent.
