Lomax Elementary School Reviews

This school is terrible! We just moved here from San Antonio and I am SO disappointed in my choice! This school offers nothing that could help children become exemplary. It ultimately cut and dry and all about the 'state testing'. Everyone knows focusing completely on that, dumbs your child down. These test are simple! Look at scores across Texas, every school is 'exemplary' or 'recognized'. Where is the challenge for my child?? They have ruined these teachers!

I alwyas brag to my friends how blessed we are to have Lomax be in our area! It is an awesome school, and my daughter has had the best teachers. she is now in 5th grade and has enjoyed every minute of it! There is zero tolerance there for bad behavior and I love that.

I have not had this type of problem with Lomax. I always receive notification of every event in a timely manner. Sometimes, I get several notices depending on what the event is. As far as being treated uncaring, it has been much the opposite for me. The front office staff is always caring and upbeat. If only every office was as helpful as Lomax. The teachers that I have encountered have gone above and beyond for my child. I feel very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school.

This is a great school. The faculty and staff are very warm and caring for the students. The teachers are always willing to go the extra to give the students what they need to succeed. The office staff is very personable, but also very strict on the safety of the students. You can never get down the hall without checking in with the office first. My child always seems happy when coming home from school and that makes me feel good as a parent.

This school is an excellent school. I have had no problem with communication. Teaches are quick to respond to emails or return phone calls. My son comes home with nothing but wonderful things to say about his day.

This school has a major communication problem. Parents are not kept informed and some of the staff have been rude and uncaring at times. Some teachers are great, some horrible. Its a roll of the dice.

Communication is the problem at this school. There is no communication between the parents and staff and there is no communication between the staff and administration.

My son went to Lomax K-5, we really enjoyed this school, and we felt like he got a very good education, we had some really good caring teachers.

Overall good school. Most teachers go out of their way to help students. Would recommend.

My son went to 1st grade at Lomax, we moved from Carpenter Elem. in Deer Park. His teacher in 1st grade was far superior than in DP. She was really patient took time for the students. Lomax is a very rigid school though. They take the fun out! The first time I came to eat lunch w/him I was in shock at how sad and depressing it was. Kids can't even be kids! The lunch monitors are constantly on the microphone telling the kids to hush. We had to go to a separate table to eat which is fine but he couldn't bring a friend to eat w/him. It's the closest thing to military school you can get in public schools! If it had not been for the great teacher he had I would have pulled him out. It's hard to get involved, it's not encouraged, unless your a volunteer.

Lomax Elementary has provided my son with positive reinforcement and his grades have improved dramatically. The teachers give him more than an education - they have taught him the importance of learning.

Lomax Elementry is a safe, secure and caring school. I've been pleased with their responsiveness to both myself and my child. My childs grades have improved 20%.
